Stockings and Glimmer Paper

Ciao Bella,

I have been playing around with the Stocking Big Die from the Holiday Mini Catalog ….and the Red Glimmer paper….. I must say, I don;t know why I didn't pull this paper out before…..it is the most perfect glittery paper and it doesn't rub off….way cool …. all the glitter and with none of the mess…..

As I said, I'm still just playing around…nothing artsy fartsy…just using the die and glue the pieces together …..

This one is just Whisper White and Red Glimmer paper….

I did add a little ribbon so it could hang on a tree…..

This one is the reverse…..With Very Vanilla Card stock and the Red Glimmer Paper….

These are just so cute just like this …you really don't need to anything else …except maybe add a name to the top ….

these are so simple ….I bet even a kindergarten class could make these to decorate the walls of their class room and when it is time for Christmas break… they can take them home and hang them on the tree…….

ok … let me show the glimmer paper up close for a quick sec….

when i was playing with this…..I kept thinking that If this paper was around when they made the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy's Rudy Slippers would have been made out of this …….

I really does look like crushed rubies, sealed to paper…..

Now of Course… my silly came out…and I'll never know how my brain went from the Wizard of OZ to Barbie…..

Yep…..a Barbie stocking… I guess my girlie girl side came out…..don't tell me you don't know a little girl who doesn't love Barbie….

same thing really… just glues the pieces from the die together and added the name in glitter…

But wait ….I was still thinking about kids making these… and all my demo sisters making them with fancy boxes to things in …..I wanted something super …..super duper ….simple ….and it came to me …..

I just attached a Petite Pocket to the back …..there is just enough room for a pencil, stickers and a piece or two of small candy…..

Or if you were a grown up looking for a fast easy gift for a neighbor or co-worker… it fits a gift card…..how cool is that ?   I mean really all I did was run the Petite pocket die through the big shot ….assembled it and glued it to the back of the stocking …..

I'm thinking that this stocking die is a must have for everyone …from just kids art projects to grown up gifts …this die meets all those needs …

If you would like to purchase this die or the glimmer paper, just email me at sherry@sherrystampinbella.com…or… just click on the shop now button at the top …..

Have a great day and tomorrow is freak flag Friday …..

Petite Pocket Memory Book

Ciao Bella,

Look what I have for you today…….

isn't it just darling ….. and yes i went a little overboard with the ribbon….. It is a Memory Book made with the Petite Pockets die and Creative Elements Stamp Set ….. Each Page is made of one Pocket ….so there is plenty of room to keep small mementos…..leaves, rocks, lock of hair, ticket stubs…what ever…

Don't you just love this flower from creative elements set….I just love it stamped in daffodil delight , a pumpkin pie brad in the middle, set against the Cherry Cobbler…really gives it a 3-d look…..

There is plenty of room for pictures and journaling……. Of course there is my favorite blue Island Indigo… I couldn't not use it …..

It was really easy to make … I just Die cut all the envelopes from the petite pocket die …. Decorated them first ….that's the key… then attached them to one another with just a tiny bit of Sticky Strip …to make sure they stayed lined up… while I punched a whole with my crop a dile for the ribbon…..easy peasy …..

On another note I want to thank all of you for your kind notes and personal stories of having Sept 11 being a personal special day and how you cope with both ….. I am compiling them to give to my friend …..Thanks so much …..

If you have any questions … I'm always available ….. Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com

Petal Card Double Punch Box

Ciao Bella,

I'm so excited today…. My Dear Sweet Friend, Teresa Hafso otherwise known as The Scrappin' Mama…asked me to be her Featured Artist on her Blog…..I am so honored … I don't know what to say…but Did know what to do ….Create a project just for her…but I couldn't just stop there …I also Created a little picture tutorial to go with it ….SO …Want to see the project that is being featured on the Scrappin' Mama Studio's Blog …..

It is this tiny little 1 inch box , made with the Petal Card Double Punch…these little boxes are perfect for all sorts of things…..this one I made to go on a Halloween Spooky Tree…….

So let's get going on how to make one of this little gems …

You will need the Petal Card Double Punch, Bone Folder and either Designer Series Paper or Card Stock

1. Punch out 4 of the Petal Cards…. Look at the picture to the right…can you see how clear the score lines are?…To get those score lines super clear… Here is an Important tip….. stand up when you use this punch…use two hands, one on top of the other, and after it punches give it an extra push…. 2 Times…..I like to make my desk creek 2 times but that's just because my desk is really old ……..

After you punch either your Designer Series Paper or Card Stock, use your Bone Folder to Reinforce those score lines …..

I'm sorry this next picture is blurry …..

2. Next you are going to use your adhesive and glue two of the petals together… put your glue on the outside of the petal…..At this point don't forget … if you are using Designer Series Paper, the design side you want is facing down… or wrong side up …..

I use TomBo Multi Purpose because I live in GA, where the humidity is really high and it seems that for projects like this ….. it holds better…

Continue Gluing your petals cards together …. like a string of paper dolls……so it looks like this …..

A Nice neat little row ………

now the Hard part to explain …..bring the left and right petal on each end together ….I hope this next pictures helps …

See how it almost Rolls into the box…….

to finish getting your box shape … glue the 2 petals on the end together …..just like you did for the others…..these petals are going to be on the INSIDE of the box…there is enough room for you to pinch those two petals together from the inside…..It really is a lot easier than I'm making it out to be …..

When that's done your box should look like this:

Now you can close your Box by gluing the flaps down or doing that " under over thing" … I don't know what it's is called or what ever way you like …..

If you are going to decorate it and turn it into a hanging ornament…Be sure to close the top first …I used the "under over thing-y" so I had that little space in the center to put a Brad … so you will need the bottom open to secure the brad …..

Here is another tip for you…..have you ever looked really looked at you paper piercing tool….. you have the pokey end and you have the flat end…well the flat end is perfect for reaching into the box and really flattening and securing the brad….. the same trick works when you add a brad to a card or other project…..so they are always perfectly flat ….

I just used Baker's twine to make the loop so my little box could hang…..

So see you're done not so bad …..I made a whole slew of them in just a few minutes….

See the top one in the Picture… Looks like a Christmas Present…..and it is the perfect size to hang on one of those office desk top Christmas trees…..

There is my Halloween Box on the Bottom Row,,, you can get a good look at that " under over thing" I was telling you about…..

and the other ones in fun bright colors… are just Perfect for birthday…..a teeny tiny present to sit on a card that you give a Co-worker or teacher …when you want a little something more than a card … but not really a full gift… just a little extra ….

So what fits in these little boxes?

1 Hershey nugget or Kiss…..or any other individual wrapped single piece of candy…

Eraser tops or baby erasers, you know the ones in the dollar stores that come out for every holiday…that's what one of my kids teacher is using them for …..she lets the kids pick a box when they do something good…they are high school kids and love it …..she also said she is putting candy, paper clips, and all those little things…It's like the days of the "Grab Bags" you never know what you are going to get ….and that's half the fun …..

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial …and don't forget to visit Teresa at the Stampin' Mama Studios….she has some great Christmas ideas … you really should check them out…..

If you have any questions just email me at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com and I will do my best to answer them or if you want to purchase the Petal Card Double Punch … just click on my shop now button …..

Monogram Suite is Simple Sweet

Ciao Bella,

I tried several times yesterday to post but for some reason ….it just wouldn't take …. I figured my blog new it was Labor Day and was not going to do any labor…..

What I want to share today …..is the exact reason why I make cards…I received this card in a swap from the Charlotte Regional Stampin Up training…..

Joyce G. a sister demo, gave this card as her swap …..super  simple and Elegant …..but that's not the reason …. The reason I'm sharing is … instead of making all the cards the same in the swap … Joyce took the time and using the Stamp Set Monogram Suite, put every person who was in the swap , letter of their name as the focal point …It made me feel a little special that she would take that time to do that ….So that's the reason I make cards and gifts… to make someone else feel a little Special ….

Joyce also went over the top and gave each one of us …..this

This really cute treat pouch…..again super simple … but a big impact …..So I just have to Thank You to Joyce… In a day filled with surprises she stood out …..

Since I like this so card So Much ….. I'm think of either having one similar either in workshop or as a Personalized Stationary Class…..but I can't decide…..

So please email me at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com or leave a comment and tell me what you prefer at Personalized stationary Class…( great for Christmas gift giving) or see it in a workshop …..Either way I will make it happen …..

With Strength & Hope

Ciao Bella,

I hope everyone survived the heat this weekend ….I know I tried to avoid it and ended up getting a lot of Stamping done …I can't wait to share it with you over this coming week but Before I do … I just also wanted to Share that I'm so very lucky ….I Just got my results of my mammogram ….. and the doctor told my that "the sisters" photographed beautifully and are perfect inside and out…Lucky for me my doctor uses the New Digital machines…minimal squishing and pain free….The tech who took the photos, let me see them before she sent them to the doctor….and OMG …..not only could you see the inside… you could see the pores of my skin in the photo …. I was amazed how detailed this was …..

Now why would I be sharing something so personal on such a public place… you ask?

Stampin Up! has been a supporter of many different organization from relief for hurricanes and floods to the Ronald McDonald Houses…In their Make a Difference Program, they have chosen to Partner with The Beast Cancer Research Foundation, To prevent and cure Breast Cancer in our Lifetime…To do this Stampin Up has created the Stamp Set Strength & Hope, and $2 from every sale, the actual stamp set or digital stamp set will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation…..

Here are a couple of cards I made using this way to gorgeous stamp set …..

Isn't is just a stunning set… I used Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder ….and Yes I did use non traditional breast cancer colors, to show the versatility of this set …that it can be used for more than just Breast cancer…

Look at the details in this set ….

I was almost afraid to use this set….I if I could bring out the true beauty of the details …but I think I did a pretty good job.

I so wish that you could see the Vanilla Smooch Spritz all over the card…It gives it a slight iridescent and sparkly almost pearlized effect

This one is slightly more tradition in it's colors…I used Blushing Bride and Concord Crush …and Vanilla Smooch Spritz … I love the Smooch Spritz…..super easy peasy way to add sparkle and whimsy to any project …..Also Look at how detailed that Butterfly is ….Oh … I just had an Idea … Clear embossing Powder and Stampin Up Pastels … I'm going to have to try that when I'm done here …..

Ok here is what the actual stamp set images look like

is it not one of the most beautiful stamps sets you have ever seen….

Remember Stampin' Up! will donate $2 for every stamp set purchased, that includes the Digital version as well , to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation …..This is also only for a limited time so you need to order your set by August 31st…..

Candy Cane Fancy Favor Box

Ciao Bella,

I'm still on a roll with my Super Easy Favors….

Candy Cane desinger series paper favor box

I just used the Fancy Favor Die with of course my Big Shot Machine…with the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper, to make the box…a simple belly band with Pretty in Pink Card Stock, and a simple White Satin Ribbon Bow….

Now I did fancy it up a bit using the Northern Frost Decorative Strip  and my Big Shot to make the Snowflakes, In the front of the box I put the snowflakes on the box itself, but on the sides and the back I attached the Snow Flakes to the Ribbon …and of course I had to add some Rhinestones to the snowflakes… I so love those rhinestones… I just can't seem to get enough of them ….

Now I'm off to start getting ready for the Big Turkey Day tomorrow ….so If you should need anything don't be shy … just give me a call or email me and I will be happy to help you …..

Match Box Christmas Party Favors

Ciao Bella,

Here is an actual bit of creativity this morning, …With my Dear Hubby Being home from on R&R from Iraq, be brain has been a bit off on the creative side…..So I decided to go back to a basic go to project. ….. an of course that means pulling out the Big Shot … oh I love my Big Shot….

Christmas party favors

I know super simple …But I love simple and with all the craziness of the holidays who wants to add another item to the already long to do list…These give the handmade touch without all the fuss…

pink christmas favor box

This Favor Box, I used the XL Matchbox Die in my Big Shot, I used the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper from the mini Catalog to make a belly band…Love this paper…can you see,.. those dots are Glittered, the paper comes that way … way too cool…all the shiny is done for you…add a bit of 1/8th Taffeta Ribbon …and you are all ready to fill it with the treat of your choice…..

This one I did step up just a smidgen….This time I used the striped paper from the Candy Cane Designer Series Paper… Look close… the red stripe … is glittered too….it's just another super simple belly band. The tag… I just punched out with the New Decorative Label Punch and Added some glitter….a little more 1/8th inch taffeta ribbon and you are done ….

black and white xmas party favor For this box , I went Formal-ish… Maybe for a New Years Party,

I again made the matchbox , but I used Stampin Up's Shimmery White Card Stock…so no need to fuss ..it already has the shimmer, a simple Black Satin Ribbon…and you are done.  Ok I did add the Old hat pin with some old beads I had laying around…but I did spy at the dollar store the other day a display with holiday pin and Cell Phone Charms…Now that I think of it I'm going to have to go get some make some more of these… Why didn't I think of that Idea when I was at the store…..

Anyway the Box is super elegant and sometimes less is more….and I think that is the case with these boxes…
