Creative journal – while Driving?
Ciao Bella,
It is freak flag Friday …and it's time to share another page in my creative challenge journal …..

This week I chose the challenge of becoming inspired while driving…. looking at nature , enjoying the view, listening to my own thoughts…..what I discovered was I'm not a leaf person … while they look pretty changing colors on the tree … everything after that is a big ol yucky mess…. but what I do enjoy is the seed collecting and the fall flowers that start to bloom …..and that include the wild flowers on the side of the road and in the fields…..and i was inspired to pull out the stamp set Field Flowers …..I had had it for a couple weeks now and haven't played with yet…..
So that what I did….. I played with some color …like daffodil delight and crumb cake…..seeing if I could create the of a season kind of flowers …..I know it looks rather simple… but I actually enjoy looking at it … it's kinda soothing …..So what did you put in your Journal this week?
Don't forget … Christmas Extravaganza stamp Camp is open for registration …..see post below …..
Have a great weekend

Creativity Challenge Freak Friday
Ciao Bella,
I have to say this challenge is a little difficult….not as easy as it first appears…I have had several people ask me about the challenge tasks… so Here is Carrie Cudney's Challenge…
Creative Challenges
by Carrie Cudney from Stampin' Up
? Find 10 quotations about creativity that inspire you or remind
you of the importance of being creative. Find a way to
incorporate them into your journal….one per page, or all on the
same page…anything goes!
? In your journal, write the phrase “I am creative” 25 times. Make
it look different each time you write it.
? As adults we tend to criticize ourselves. Learn to get past your
inner critic by doing some stream of consciousness writing. Fill
three pages in your journal by writing whatever comes to mind.
Nothing is too silly, too weird, or too trivial to be included. When
your inner critic starts telling you things like “this isn't
interesting,” or “you are a horrid speller,” or “you have such
messy handwriting” or “you are not creative,” just push past
those thoughts and keep going.
? Pablo Picasso once said, “All children are artists. The problem is
how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Do something
creative that you loved to do as a child (put together a puzzle,
color a picture, build a sand castle, play make-believe, etc.)
Don't analyze anything, but do it as you would have as a child.
This works even better if you can find a little one to play with
you. Create a page in your journal inspired by your experience.
? Do something creative to your appearance. (Wear bright colored
accessories, paint your toenails a fun color, wear your hair a
different way than you typically wear it.) Take your photo, put it
in your journal and record how you feel about your creative look.
? List in your journal all the reasons why you are a legitimate
artist/and or designer.
? Fill a page in your journal defining the word 'fun' by using only
images–no words.
? Steven Spielberg once claimed that his very best ideas came to
him while driving the freeways. On a nice day, go for an
afternoon drive by yourself, put on some inspirational music, roll
down the window, get comfortable, and let your mind wander
(but please drive carefully!). When you get back, record the
ideas that flowed through your mind.
? Turn on a great piece of music (preferably nothing with lyrics).
Relax, breathe deeply, listen for 10 minutes and let yourself
daydream. Create a picture of your day dream in your journal.
? To be creative, you have to be willing to try new things and
break some rules. Find a blank page in your journal and break
some rules to make it look 'ugly'. Use a color scheme that isn't
supposed to match, use words or images that should be too
small or too big, make things the wrong color, or put things in
the wrong places.
? On a day when you are feeling positive, write a thank you letter
or make a thank you card for yourself. List your best qualities
and let yourself know that you are creative and you are capable
of remarkable things! Paste the letter in your journal. (It might
be fun to mail it to yourself first!) Come back and read the letter
if you are ever feeling down or in a creative funk.
? Find a magazine photo of somebody famous that you admire.
Cut it out and paste it in your journal. Add a speech bubble that
compliments you on your amazing creativity.
? Sometimes we are most creative in the middle of the night when
everything is still and quiet. Set your alarm for 3:00 a.m. Get
up, go outside and admire the universe. Go back inside, and
without turning on any lights, sit in a comfortable chair and take
a few minutes to enjoy the stillness of the night. Go back to bed
and in the morning, record your experience in your journal.
? Part of being creative is learning to appreciate differences and
not compare yourself to others. Go outside and collect 5
different but beautiful leaves. Place them in your journal and list
10 ways that they are all different.
? Add a “happy colored” accessory to your room or office. It could
be a vase, a frame, a tray or anything. Take a picture, put it in
your journal and describe why you picked that particular object
to remind you of your heightened creative awareness.
See… not so easy as they sound …..
I tried the getting up at 3 am…..Ok the Dogs woke me up to go outside…. but I was 3:30 and I went out side … and as I was watching for owls…who would like to snack on my little dogs….I looked at the stars…listened to the tree frogs and toads…when the dogs were done …we went inside and I sat and tried to listen to the quite …..and fell asleep on the couch…..when I woke up ….all I was inspired to do was want to buy a new couch …..so maybe I'll try this one again later…..
I did work on the one about finding 10 Quotes …..I will leave you with one of them since I don't have any actual pictures to share …..yet …..
Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.
