Halloween Buffet

Ciao Bella,

Yesterday I share some trick or treat pencils, and it got me thinking…..what if I could continue the super simple punches and scrap idea over to a Buffet table or CupCakes…..this is what I came up with

What do you think ?  For the Buffet I would use 6 inch bamboo Skewers and for cupcakes tooth picks…..Again All I used was the Wicked Cool stamp set (120600) pg 23 in the IB&C and assorted punches and scrap card stock…..

I'm thinking I need to go make some cupcake wrappers to go with these…..

I will be selling these at the Hinesville Oktber Fest this Friday and Saturday…October 15 & 16 in Downtown Hinesville GA.

And another reminder of the  Clearance Rack Blitz is still going on until October 18th…

To get to the Clarence Rack … Use my Shop Now Button at the Top Right Hand Side of my Blog….Do it now before your favorites are gone

Aren't they the cutest little things…..I have to admit that I didn't think up this way too cute creation, but when I saw these little babies I just knew I had to make them …I used the Stamp Set Paisley Prints( 121121) pg. 11 in the Holiday Mini Catalog, Chantilly Crochet Trim( 118480) pg. 190 in the IB&C and Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon ( 119256) pg. 191 in the IB&C…

These are perfect little decorations for just about anywhere…home, office or even classroom …

Now also starting Oct 4th I'm starting my 12 Weeks of Christmas promotion and I will feature a different version of this with a tutorial…so make sure you are signed up for my newsletter

Vintage Gifts with Stampin’ Up Crochet Trim

Ciao Bella,

Wow that summer cold that took me out last week…was one Monster of a cold… I thought I was feeling good enough to go to the Farmer's Market…boy was I wrong…It set me back all weekend…..Ok enough of the whinny …I was able to create a little gift…Now I didn't come up with this all by myself… A Stampin' Up sister demo, did the original …this is just my take on her idea…..In any case  it is still a wonderful gift ideal….

Take a look

Aren't they the cutest…. They are pin cushions jars…..the tops of the jar is a pin cushion and the jar it self could be filled with buttons, brad, ribbon scraps, candy…or anything you can think of …

This one features the New Big Designer Button from the up coming Holiday Mini Catalog and

Basic Pearls(119247)pg. 188 in the IB&C….

Ok I have to admit I went a little crazy, I just couldn't stop adding the Designer Button on pg 186 in the IB&C and More of those Basic Pearls…I was just having so much fun ….

Here is a more vintage feel with the new Antique Brads(117273) on pg 187 of the IB&C and the New Victoria 5/8' Crochet Trim(118481) on page 190 in the IB&C

This last one, has to be my favorite, again with the Victoria Crochet Trim(118481) and the Antique Brads (117273)…

Wouldn't these be a great gift…for the sewing friend of course but was about your child's teacher…she could keep a roll of sticker in it or  maybe some binder clips…or your co-worker, to keep paper clips or rubber bands …or in a bathroom to hold some bath salts….

I would love to show you how to make these, just email me and we can have a private class or get a group of friends together and have a party….

Distresses Designer Series Paper Scrapbook Page

Ciao Bella,

I know that Valentines Day is over but I had a request for 2 page Scrapbook layout for a friend who wanted to give it to a friend as a gift. I should say her friends husband is getting ready to go to Iraq a few weeks before their wedding anaversary …He was looking for something that he could make or have made that was on going…. so to make a long story kida short  …this is what we came up with …..I wanted it to be vintage and romantic with out being to Velentine-Y

here are close up of each page

I know you are going to ask where is the matting for the photos…..however this VERY dear husband is not quite sure of which pictures or how many he wants to use….and wants to part of it on his own….

What I did is made the base layout and will give him extra Very Vanilla Card Stock so he can mat his pictures and place them where he wants…

how is this ongoing ….you ask….Well… he has also arrange for me to make other pages and every month or so ..send them to him in Iraq, he will then will keep sending his wife new pages….he also is having 2 frames made so when she gets her pages she can display them….Also he bought a album so when the the pages on the wall change she will also be compliling a scrapbook….Is this not the most romantic husband ever…. Ok it's not his first time to Iraq, so he has learned a thing or two about seperations ….

This 2 page layout with a 12X12 craft keeper was so inexpensive… that I decided I would offer it as a kit so others could do the same or for those who like to Scrapbook on the fly……

The kit includes what you see, DSP Sending Love from the Occasions Mini Catty, all the accessories and embelishments…  comes assembled, just how you see it in the photo, and extra Card Stock for mounting photos and the 12X12 craft keeper  for $20.00 and that includes Shipping and Handling…..that is just too cheap …..

 that's all for today Bella…..

Let me know what you think and leave a comment … I LOVE comments

Another try at Sewing and the Big Shot

Ciao Bella,

Well …I tried to do some more sewing …and I have to say …these are pretty good….they are a small pillow, inspired by another demo talking about making a quilt to auction off at her pre-school fundraiser…and the talk of pre scholars got me thinking about a tooth fairy pillow….and a small pillow for the pre-scholar who needs a little extra love when away from Mom and Dad…

The First one is a toothfairy pillow….

I tend to lean toward the famine so I did this one toward the masculine…..I used the Scallop Square Die to make the basic pillow. I also used the Circle die #2, to make the quilted circle, and snipped the edges to make it fringe-y. Yes I used real buttons…now before anyone goes crazy about the choking hazard, If I actually were to make and give it to a small child ( my kids are all teens)… I would use the Sizzlits Die Buttons #5 and use felt…but I didn't have any felt and this was made for me….and I tend to keep chocolate in my mouth not plastic….

This little pillow was inspired by the children who need a little extra when away from Mom and Dad….AND …it reminded me of the childrens book entitled " The Kissing Hand"  and the quote from it " I love you forever,I love you for always…" I know there more but my youngest is 13 so it has been a decade since I read that book…any way the book is about a child being nervous about going to school and being away from his Mom and she kisses the palm of his hand and says the quote from above…..the Sizzlets Heart Set  4 pack dies have the exact heart from the story….so of course I just had to add it…..for a little boy the heart color could be changed out to a different color denim like I used on the tooth pillow ….

Isn't is cute…who wouldn't mind nap time when given the book " The Kissing Hand" and this little pillow before the start of the new adventure of going to school ……

don't forget to leave a comment …

Stampin’ Up and the Big Shot OH MY

Ciao Bella,

First I want to say is I don't sew…However I do come from a old school family and every wife and mother must have a sewing machine to do the basic of heming pants, putting patches on knees, and fixing wholes in sheets. My first experience with sewing was with my grandmother and she taught me to use her machine when I was about 8 years old…. I remember vividly because we were taking her wedding dress and turning it into pillow cases…yes I did say her SILK wedding dress….(so much for my dream of wearing that dress)….and then in 8th grade I had to take the mandatory Home EC. class…..Now for those of you who know me also remember I failed straight lines and scissors in Kindergarten. So as one might guess sewing …not on my top 10….Now about 10 years ago my mother decided that I needed a sewing machine, so for my birthday she bought be a Pfaff 1040 hobby….and well I have tried over the years…..and then I was talking with my Very Dear Mother in Law ,Joanne who is a wonderful seamstress…she has me and my family some of the most wonderful items…anyway we were talking and that I didn't even have a basic sewing box with the basic supplies…So for Christmas she gave me a gorgeous sewing box filled with everything I could ever need including a pair of GINGHER scissors, the kind that come in it's own metal velvet line tin….oh Yeah…those babies are hidden from my teenage boys…..

I know this is a little long but you need to know the history to truly appreciate what's to come….

Stampin' Up has The Big Shot die cut machine and it seems everybody is making the Rag Quilted Bags from the Big Shot. These babies are so cute and I felt the need to try and make one….. why not , right?…. I have a Big Shot and I have a sewing machine and a sewing box filled with everything. I watched other Demonstrator's videos it's not so difficult….so I thought….WRONG….wrong, wrong…for those of you who don't sew you just might understand…. First challenge ….threading the machine, second challenge… winding the bobbin and the third challenge … finding the owner's manual to complete the first two…..OK ..those were overcome….but there are more that I will spare you ….so here it is my FIRST Rag Quilt Bag….

I think it turned out OK… I like it….and I'm rather proud of myself, If I do say so myself…. There were a few lessons learned….First … now matter how much of a pain it is …change the color of the thread to match the fabric…..that way it is much more difficult to see that you failed straight line and scissors in kindergarten…..and the second lesson ….which let me just say …JOANNE HELP!!!!…. I can't seem to figure out how to set the bobbin tension …..

Of course I did play around and used a flower as part of my closing…. but … my closing strap, I felt need a little weight….

Saturday Tamara posted pictures of her Rag Quilted Bag and she had the cutest little butterfly charm and then Yesterday Janet Wakeland was talking about our Simply Adorned Charms and while I was in Walmart getting a few things … BAMB… it hit me…. here is a close up of what these 2 ladies inspired

Now the closing strap has some weight to it and I can show off my Simple Adorned Creations and it gives my bag a little bling …gotta love the BLING!!!!!

Now … many of you are thinking…why am I complaining about not being able to sew…..

Take a look at my very dear husband's valentine…. He is going downrange for about a year or more and so I wanted to make him something that wasn't Feminine and that he could keep those special things in ….like cards or photos….

Here is where you see how truly challenged I am…..My husband and I named it the…

"The most romantic, crafty, tacky, I love it because you made it pillow"

You can snicker now…..lol

So you see … I am truly sewing challenged…

I hope to have enjoyed my adventure ….and have maybe learned a trick or two from my sharing ….

I hope this starts your week off with a smile and don't forget to leave me a comment….for blog candy
