Where’s my Highlander?

Ciao Bella,

I told you another crazy week here at the Stampin Bella Household …..it has been all doctors and pharmacies… nothing serious ….just a royal pain in the you know where …..so Today ….I have a little game …Let's Play Where's My Highlander?…..

Remember I told you about my High School Senior having to dress up like a Highlander for the School pep rally …..and I was banned from going and watching the event? … well my secret agent(my 10th grade son) with the spy cam had a reaction to his medication and could not be at the pep rally… but did time his illness during the pep rally so I had to be at the school to pick him up …..So to honor my Senior Highlanders ban request…..I took these picture from the second floor of the school …where he wouldn't see me ….and I only have a little point and shoot camera …I so wish I had a real zoom lens …and I'm still waiting on pictures from the school with close ups ……. So which child is mine, in this crowd shot? ….. It took me several minutes …to find him to take the picture …..lol

maybe you can him in this picture?

or maybe this picture

or maybe this one

yep you found him ….. The electric blue pony tail  and green sash and plastic swords….and I know you really can't see it … a skirt!!!!! well it's suppose to be a kilt but he used a girls school uniform skirt…..and his face was painted in school colors…..think brave heart goes to the electric blue pep rally and becomes the school mascot …..I am very proud of my highlander … it takes a lot for a high school kids these days to dress in drag…..and I am happy to report …The Senior class won the school spirit stick at the pep rally …..

Now for something completely different

Christmas eye candy !!!!!

This has to be one of the easiest Christmas cards I ever made …..I used the new Stocking punch in the Holiday Mini Catalog with red Glimmer paper to create the stocking ….ran some Whisper White in the Poinsettia Embossing folder through the big shot ….read red for the card Base and ribbon and done ….. super simple and you could knock out you entire Christmas card list in a very short amount of time …….

Tomorrow I will take this card up a notch ….so don't forget to come back and visit …..

And have you seen the deals for October … you could get a free big shot or stamps …or how about stamping your food …..see my side bars for all the details….

See you tomorrow ……

Petal Card Double Punch Box

Ciao Bella,

I'm so excited today…. My Dear Sweet Friend, Teresa Hafso otherwise known as The Scrappin' Mama…asked me to be her Featured Artist on her Blog…..I am so honored … I don't know what to say…but Did know what to do ….Create a project just for her…but I couldn't just stop there …I also Created a little picture tutorial to go with it ….SO …Want to see the project that is being featured on the Scrappin' Mama Studio's Blog …..

It is this tiny little 1 inch box , made with the Petal Card Double Punch…these little boxes are perfect for all sorts of things…..this one I made to go on a Halloween Spooky Tree…….

So let's get going on how to make one of this little gems …

You will need the Petal Card Double Punch, Bone Folder and either Designer Series Paper or Card Stock

1. Punch out 4 of the Petal Cards…. Look at the picture to the right…can you see how clear the score lines are?…To get those score lines super clear… Here is an Important tip….. stand up when you use this punch…use two hands, one on top of the other, and after it punches give it an extra push…. 2 Times…..I like to make my desk creek 2 times but that's just because my desk is really old ……..

After you punch either your Designer Series Paper or Card Stock, use your Bone Folder to Reinforce those score lines …..

I'm sorry this next picture is blurry …..

2. Next you are going to use your adhesive and glue two of the petals together… put your glue on the outside of the petal…..At this point don't forget … if you are using Designer Series Paper, the design side you want is facing down… or wrong side up …..

I use TomBo Multi Purpose because I live in GA, where the humidity is really high and it seems that for projects like this ….. it holds better…

Continue Gluing your petals cards together …. like a string of paper dolls……so it looks like this …..

A Nice neat little row ………

now the Hard part to explain …..bring the left and right petal on each end together ….I hope this next pictures helps …

See how it almost Rolls into the box…….

to finish getting your box shape … glue the 2 petals on the end together …..just like you did for the others…..these petals are going to be on the INSIDE of the box…there is enough room for you to pinch those two petals together from the inside…..It really is a lot easier than I'm making it out to be …..

When that's done your box should look like this:

Now you can close your Box by gluing the flaps down or doing that " under over thing" … I don't know what it's is called or what ever way you like …..

If you are going to decorate it and turn it into a hanging ornament…Be sure to close the top first …I used the "under over thing-y" so I had that little space in the center to put a Brad … so you will need the bottom open to secure the brad …..

Here is another tip for you…..have you ever looked really looked at you paper piercing tool….. you have the pokey end and you have the flat end…well the flat end is perfect for reaching into the box and really flattening and securing the brad….. the same trick works when you add a brad to a card or other project…..so they are always perfectly flat ….

I just used Baker's twine to make the loop so my little box could hang…..

So see you're done not so bad …..I made a whole slew of them in just a few minutes….

See the top one in the Picture… Looks like a Christmas Present…..and it is the perfect size to hang on one of those office desk top Christmas trees…..

There is my Halloween Box on the Bottom Row,,, you can get a good look at that " under over thing" I was telling you about…..

and the other ones in fun bright colors… are just Perfect for birthday…..a teeny tiny present to sit on a card that you give a Co-worker or teacher …when you want a little something more than a card … but not really a full gift… just a little extra ….

So what fits in these little boxes?

1 Hershey nugget or Kiss…..or any other individual wrapped single piece of candy…

Eraser tops or baby erasers, you know the ones in the dollar stores that come out for every holiday…that's what one of my kids teacher is using them for …..she lets the kids pick a box when they do something good…they are high school kids and love it …..she also said she is putting candy, paper clips, and all those little things…It's like the days of the "Grab Bags" you never know what you are going to get ….and that's half the fun …..

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial …and don't forget to visit Teresa at the Stampin' Mama Studios….she has some great Christmas ideas … you really should check them out…..

If you have any questions just email me at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com and I will do my best to answer them or if you want to purchase the Petal Card Double Punch … just click on my shop now button …..

Punching Away

Ciao Bella,

I'm hoping that the MAC truck than ran me over yesterday is gone ….I hate feeling so tired and worn out…plus I really can't get anything done ….

So … I was at the Stampin Up Regional event and Carrie Cudney was showing us all how to be savvy shoppers when it comes to running our business…and she was talking about our punches and punch art…Punch art I can copy, like nobody's business, but to create my own …that is a little more challenging…so I loved it when Carrie Showed us this

This is a sample of all the different things you can make with a cupcake punch

And look at the the different things you could make with the owl Punch…..

Isn't it not the coolest thing …how many different projects out of just one punch…..

Here is a picture of me and Carrie, ….. there I am looking like a dork again ……I really need to learn how to smile for a picture…lol

I'm thinking I really need to have a punch art workshop or class ….let me know what you think?

I'm also thinking of making some videos, but I'm not sure what kinds to make ….So help me and Leave me a comment telling me what kinds of videos you would like to see here on Stampin Bella….and If I choose your suggestion….I might just send you a little thank you treat …..

Special Delievery, By Hand

Ciao Bella,

I'm still working with the Christmas Lodge Stamp Set ….it is a really fun set …..

It actually is a really easy card to make … the only problem is, I don't think you could mail it … it is just a wee bit too tall for a standard envelope….Well, I guess you could use a padded bubble mailer…. but I prefer to just hand deliver this type of card….I love to watch the recipients' face light up, when I hand it to them…

I just love the little birds image, and it fits perfectly in the XL Label Punch…

Here is the reason hand delivery is best for this card, Look at that Accordion Folded Medallion …or what ever they are called …it seams everybody calls them something different…..Anyway, thanks to a sister demo, Heather, I learned a faster and better way to make them ….and now… you will see a whole lot more if these in the future…..I'm saving the How-To, on this for my Christmas Extravaganza Stamp Camp in November……

Here on the greeting I embossed it and the little branches on the Lucky Limeade oval …I embossed with the New Pewter embossing powder…I love how it looks Guilded….

Well I'm off today for today… Lots to do to get ready for my Girls Weekend in North Carolina, at the Stampin' Up Regional Event…

Thanks for visiting today…and always my email is Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com

Congrats to the Man in Blue

Ciao Bella,

Don't ask what the title of the post means…I'll I can tell you it is Saturday and that's usually when my silly comes outs …..

I'm telling you… I really can't get enough of the colors Island Indigo and Melon Mambo…and today I threw in some Pool Party…

This is a super fast card, the base layer is whisper white and then I just layered In Color designer series Paper …

The Congrats sentiment is from the Stamp Set Tagtastic, a hostess exclusive set….

I did just a tiny bit of sponging around the sentiment, in pool party, and mounted the sentiment with the new Mini Brads…

What I love about the flowers in the bottom corner…that under the button is a layer of pool party designer series paper…but it's so subtle …and they are not overly flowery…

I might dare add that this card could actually be given to a person of the male persuasion. I think that it would be perfect for the new Dad, or even an office promotion…

I really think this is a bright and cheerful gender neutral card …..

Ok … I have to put the silly away for a couple of hours while I mow the lawn …..big yuck… I know … but it seems if I don't do it … no one else will….but when I'm done I will get to play with my new Holiday Mini Catalog Pre-order Stuff … I can't wait …soon I get done with the yucky ….the sooner I get to the fun stuff…

have a great weekend …see you Monday

Flowers and Embossing, Too Much Fun

Ciao Bella,

I had so much fun this weekend…I actually watched both my teenagers reading actual BOOKS….can you believe it ?  I wasn't sure they knew how to read an actual book…I'm mean there was no mouse to turn the pages for them …lol    Anyway, while they were doing that, it allowed me to get some uninterrupted stamping time in …I rediscovered how much fun it was to heat emboss…most times I'm too in a hurry or just too lazy to get out the "stuff"….I have to say there is something about the way heat embossing really make the colors more saturated and really just about pop of the page ….. not to mention shinny… I love shinny…

I used Button Buddies for the Flower image and the greeting is from Kindness Matters….I'm just giddy, with this card…super shinny… I swear I must have been a Mermaid in another life…love, love, love the Shinny…The base of the card is Concord Crush, the layer is Daffodil Delight…

Look at those punched out flowers, all of them are heat embossed…I used a variety of techniques, to get the different colors on the image before I set it with clear embossing powder…The purple-ish flower I heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder..so that one is sparkly and shiny….and I put a matching glimmer brad in the middle …

I have a few more embossing ideas to try out today… I can't wait till the kids leave for school…I also can't wait to show you how to heat emboss…So while I'm playing today …I also will be creating the cards for my Stamping 101 Class …that will be featuring Heat embossing. This class will be on Sept 1st from 10am to 12 Noon …the cost of the class is $15,  don't forget all technique classes include 2-3 projects featuring that week's technique, and a 6×6 reference card in a protective sleeve….RSVP by August 25th and payment holds your spot in the class…

Don't forget the Buy 3 Get one Free Designer Series Paper ….

Kindness Matters

Ciao Bella,

I'm so glad it's Saturday,  a few tedious chores and then I get to play…..I have a few things floating around in my head for the Kindness Matters stamp set ….I started playing with it …I just love the butterflies…

Sorry about the shadows, the sun was not cooperating with me …..the base colors are Melon Mambo and Island Indigo….that color combo seems to be my favorite these days …Can you believe I fussy cut those little tiny butterflies…..and I used the Island Indigo Pattern paper….a few punches, little ribbon and Baker's twines …and that it …

Here is a quick close up of the fussy cutting…The butterflies curled up on their when I cut them out … and I just used mini glue dots to attach them.

In two weeks I'm going to the Stampin Up regional conference…and it is going to be one great weekend…Part of going is swapping cards with other demos, to get a variety of styles and ideas …and well I needed to make about 25 of the same card to do this …and I really like this card and it would be perfect for this …except … I'm sorry I'm not into fussy cutting THAT many butterflies…

So … I created this version …..It may or may not be the final version that I take with me to the regional conference …either case I still had fun making it …

It's the same basic layout, I just change up the layers and made it a little cleaner. not so much fussy design. I love Fussy design, little bows, strips of paper, matting punches …but when you are mass producing about 50 of them …..easy with a WOW.. is what you want …..

Have a great weekend everybody…..

A Menagerie For the Window Box…

Ciao Bella,

Well I put all those pieces, that I shared with you yesterday, together …..

So what do you think? …… I think after seeing all those pictures from the Stampin'Up Convention …that my brain wanted to bring that garden to me …..I still think it needs a little something , but for the life of me I can't figure it out …..a ribbon ?  or mount the whole card onto Concord Crush ? …..hum I just don't know …..

I have to admitt, I had a lot of fun with the details of the card…The Butterfly image is from the Kindness Matters stamp set…of course I had to put Designer Jewel Pearls on the Butterfly…I used the 5-Petal Flower Punch to make him pop….

Here you can see all the buttons, pearls, and rhinestones. I even added Crystal Effects to make it look like there were dew drops on the petals…

This wouldn't complete without some Vanilla Mist Smooch Sprtiz….. I love how it makes everything sparkly…..

If you want me to show you how to make these little paper flowers to embelish just about any project…..all you have to do is ask…..I'm here to serve you …

I can always be reached at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com

Boho Blossom Butterfly Menagerie

Ciao Bella,

Between getting my teenagers ready for their first day back to school …..which is this morning by the way…and doing the not fun at all,  business side of being a Stampin Up! Demo … My creativity has left the building just like Elvis …..I have several Projects sitting on my desk just waiting for that final piece to bring it all together …..So today …I thought I'd show you …well an idea that came with my first cup of coffee but then …by my second cup ….didn't really work… or the base part didn't … and what I am left with is what I'm calling

The Boho Blossom Butterfly Menagerie…….

I used the Butterfly stamp from the Kindness Matters Stamp Set and the Boho Blossom Punch to make this menagerie….. I love the word menagerie … I think it will my word of the day…..

Anyway ….. I'm going to play around with this today … and see what happens ….I'm the mean time If you have an idea of what to make with this …. PLEASE email me asap at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com

Don't forget the B3GO on Designer series paper …and I have added new classes … so reserve your seat before the are gone …..

Fruit or Flowers today

Ciao Bella,

I have some flowers for you today…

Yes, I used another image from the Button Buddies Stamp Set …I used the NEW In colors, Pool Party and Island Indigo…..and rather than put the buttons on the flowers …I choose to use some of Stampin' Up Designer Jewels, Pearls….. and used the coordinating buttons to hold the bow …. and yes I know the buttons are not centered …..I measured, and measured and measured …and somehow it still was a little off… I'm leaving it in the "I failed straight lines and scissors in Kindergarten " category…..

Here is another…Same colors for the base of the card….I used Calypso Coral and daffodil Delight for the Flowers, and buttons with more of the designer jewels, pearls…..

I really like the simplicity of the card base with the pop of color on the flowers

Now what if you would rather have the gift of Fruit instead of flowers?

When I first saw this set … these cherry images were the first image I was attracted to …clean, simple,and classic….. And thought they were going to be a breeze to work with … but they were not as easy as I thought …. I was over thinking again as usual …..and when I just kinda let go …it became clear ….stick with your first instinct… clean and simple …..

This one Is Real Red Card Stock and real red everything else….That is the New Baker's twine in the center of the button…..

All I did here was stamp my image, and then stamped the Cherries again on another piece of card stock and used the 3/4 inch punch and punched them out …and used demensionals to pop them up to look like a real bunch of cherries …..

Here again very clean and simple…But what I love is the tiny scallop frame …..I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Boarder Punch. I cut it length wise down the middle and then glued it to the back of the main image,so you could only see the scallops….. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, has to be one of my favorites …It is so versatile…

I have has so many emails about these cards, that I am planning a FREE CLASS …. I should have the details worked out by tomorrow ….

Please Email me at Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com if there is anything I can do for you…..answer questions, need help with a specific technique, anything at all … just let me know … I'm always at your service…

Button Buddies, Mr. Snowman

Ciao Bella,

Meet Mr. Snowman

Let me first start off saying that Mr. Snowman, is just cute as a button….I know bad joke but I have been dying to say that …lol…Anyway as cute as he is … he wasn't as easy as some of the other images for me to work with ….he screams tags to me …and I wanted to to stay in my 3×3 note card frame work …AND… this I know you wont believe … I didn't have any clear or white buttons…OMG… I know …..

Since I didn't have any buttons, I gave this little guy some bling…I gave him some rhinestones…and all around the edges after I punched him out with the xl label punch, I used Dazzling Diamond Glitter….He kinda looks like he is sitting on top of a package doesn't he ….there are those mini brads again …I can't stop using them ….lol

This time, I didn't dress Mr. Snowman up, I just let him hang out in a snowbank of Dazzling Diamond Glitter…a little sponging, a little merry and some ribbon ….. super duper simple ……….This proves you don't have to have buttons on every image…and they can still be cute as a button … oops … that bad joke slip out again …..go ahead just roll your eyes

I am working on some Free Classes for August and September …So keep an eye out …Mr. Snowman just might be in there….

Email me today, if you still haven't received your new 2011 Idea Book & Catalog, or if you would like to purchase the stamp Set Button Buddies,or even anything I have featured here on my my Blog…

Snips and Snails

ciao Bella,

Snips and snails and Puppy dog tails … Isn't that what they say little boys are made of …not today

I've been working my way through each image in the Button Buddies Stamp Set…This little snail is almost as cute as the little piggy…The snail image can work simply by itself or can be a cute accent in a nature inspired card …

I'll I did here was just stamp the little guy and add a button from our Brights Collection of buttons… Just in case you haven't heard it enough … this stamp set is designed to go with Stampin' Up's Button Collections

I did add two little brads from the Brights collection as well, …just for some added pop…

This time I just stamp my image and punched it out, then using the 5 petal flower punch and the large scallop circle punch, I made my layers … it's almost like he is sitting in a flower… I did use a Glimmer Brad, instead of a button…If you haven't tried these you really should… they are the perfect way to add a little glittery shimmer and shine with out all the fuss and muss of glue or glitter….

This 3×3 note card, I think is my favorite of the set. I love how this little snail is inching his way through the garden …a cute little accent for just about any occasion you could think of with little note card…I used the Just Believe Stamp Set for my garden background…and stamped my little snail guy and then …are you ready … I "fussy cut" him out …I know …You know I hate to fussy cut anything …I'm telling you… It all comes from Kindergarten…when I failed straight lines and scissors…scared me for life…

So is the snail cute or what? ….I'm thinking I just might have to make a full size card with him in the garden …

Ok well I'm off for today …and long day of house cleaning that I didn't done yesterday … I ended up driving my friend on a 6 hour turn around trip to Florida, to pick up her truck driver husband… he was in a accident … no worries … he is fine …but his 18 wheeler was not so lucky ….but that's a story for another day …

Reminder….. I have a few spots open in my Royal Stampers on a Not SO Royal Budget Club …so RSVP today to reserve your seat in the Club…

If you have question or comments or want to purchase and of the Stampin Up products I've shown you today….. All you have to do is email me at    Sherry@sherrystampinbella.com
